NP home slow transformation

Designed by local architect Alexander Sasanoff in 1963, we purchased the house in 2015. Though it was in fairly poor condition, many original features remained intact, including built-in cabinetry, unique windows and doors, a bamboo guardrail and an exterior rooster mosaic among other items. We were thrilled by the prospect of carefully and respectfully bringing the house back to it's intended condition.. We had the great pleasure of meeting with Alexander, having a wonderful conversation with him in our living room, discussing his book "Growing up in Rat City and Beyond", and learning about various homes he designed in the area. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 90. What a privilege to live in one of his homes.
