After spending the weekend being hosted by a good friend, I couldn't help but jot down thoughts on her lifestyle. My takeaway was, she does 'living' well. Simple, contained, intentional, calming, rich in depth and appreciation.

-small is appreciated
-less is more
-buys the real thing, no knock offs
-every furniture piece, accessory, clothing, & food item is meaningful, thought through & holds a story.
-she buys things through small businesses/markets, often getting to know the owner
-cuts down on crap to alleviate anxiety
-all unnecessary items are tossed, even at the expense of being possibly wasteful
-doesn’t let emotional attachments to things get in the way
-items from the past that are truly meaningful are stored in an organized fashion in matching bins
-maintains, values and cares for her belongings
-surroundings are clean & well cared for
-if given the choice, chooses white
-washes sheets with towels every week - at the laundry mat
-air dries almost all clothes to preserve and not trap in oils by drying
-replaces white shirts when too dirty
-never underestimate the value of simple clothing - sexy white tank, natural fiber knit sweater, the perfect jeans & sneakers
-doesn’t know how healthy she eats
-every food item she eats is fresh, from good sources, intentional, simple
-locally grown, made & designed rule
-loves beautiful fonts & graphics
-curating a few is better than showing it all
-hates bad packaging
-she knows the importance of good lighting and how it affects her mood
-choose sunrise views and lighting over Golden Gate Bridge bay view
-fav coffee spot has to do with the complete experience: sequence of ordering, knowing their craft, high quality beans, nice functional aesthetics and community building
-scouts out & takes note of the sweet, worthwhile shops, restaurants, parks and excursions. Fills her days incorporating these experiences
-she focuses wholeheartedly on one thing, person, event at a time, giving it her full attention
