Normandy Park
Our introduction to heat therapy began during the pandemic. In the summer of 2020, my husband Chad and I purchased a sauna and redesigned our backyard to make space for it—adding a rock pond, hardscapes, and a fire pit. That summer, as we built the sauna in 107Ëš heat, we couldn’t help but wonder what on earth we were doing. But more than I ever could’ve expected, the experience was life-changing. Our routines and priorities began to shift: first came nightly saunas before bed, followed by a cold shower addition, and eventually the tradition of weekly dips in the Sound—capped off with a sauna session alongside friends. Since 2020, this rhythm has deeply enriched our lives—mentally, physically, and spiritually.

The sauna is appreciated year round, any time of day, with friends or solo. As you see below, each season brings with it an equally enjoyable, new take on the experience.
